Olha Taranenko joined All Survivors Project in 2024 as an interpreter, later taking on additional responsibilities as the National Coordinator (Ukraine). In both roles, she plays a key part in ensuring effective communication between survivors, support organisations and stakeholders. Her work is built on deep trust with survivors, allowing them to share their experiences in a safe and supportive environment.
With over 15 years of experience as an English-Ukrainian interpreter and teacher, Olha has prepared numerous students for language exams. Following the full-scale invasion of Ukraine, many of her students were able to seek safety abroad, securing jobs thanks to their strong English skills. She has also designed and led English courses for military veterans and survivors of conflict-related sexual violence (CRSV).
Since 2022, Olha has been actively involved in projects supporting survivors of CRSV, providing simultaneous interpretation for organisations such as Mukwege Foundation and SEMA Ukraine. Her expertise ensures that survivors’ voices are accurately conveyed and heard at both national and international levels.
Olha holds a master’s degree in English and Bulgarian from Berdiansk Pedagogical University. She is based in Ukraine, where she supports her husband, brother, and father, all of whom serve in the Armed Forces of Ukraine, as well as several others in the military. In her free time, she enjoys walking with her children and weightlifting.
