Emilie Venables joined All Survivors Project as a Senior Humanitarian Advisor in 2022. She is an anthropologist and researcher with almost 20 years of experience working in humanitarian settings with experience on issues including sexual violence, migration, torture, HIV/AIDS and Ebola. Emilie has worked in contexts including South Sudan, Kenya, Democratic Republic of Congo, Central African Republic, South Africa, Liberia, Greece, Italy, Cambodia and Lebanon. She worked with Médecins Sans Frontières between 2012 and 2019 as a field anthropologist and qualitative research advisor before joining the International Committee of the Red Cross as a Senior Operational Researcher.
Emilie has a BA Social Anthropology from the University of Cambridge, an MSc Development Studies from SOAS and an MSc and PhD in African Studies from the University of Edinburgh. She is an Honorary Fellow at the University of Edinburgh, an Honorary Research Associate at the University of Cape Town and is a course coordinator at the Geneva Centre of Humanitarian Studies. Emilie is also training as a coach through the Centre for Coaching in Switzerland.
