Maria Carolina joined All Survivors Project in January 2024 as Legal Advisor.
Maria Carolina is a Colombian attorney holding an Advanced Diploma in Gender and Justice in Latin America from FLACSO, Argentina, and an LLM in Human Rights from Utrecht University, the Netherlands. With over 7 years of experience, she has served as a Legal and Sexual and Gender-Based Violence (SGBV) Advisor for NGOs, the District Women’s Secretariat, and international organizations, including UN Women and the International Committee of the Red Cross.
In addition to her roles in various countries, such as Colombia, the Netherlands, and Switzerland, she has worked across diverse regions like the Americas, Asia-Pacific, and Africa, specializing in international human rights, international humanitarian law, gender, and intersectionality. Maria Carolina excels in leading legal and policy research, drafting and reviewing legal submissions, guiding advocacy and litigation strategies, creating and implementing capacity-building initiatives, and providing legal advice and support to victims/survivors of SGBV in different contexts.
