Barbara Pirto is Human Rights Watch’s Global Director of Finance and has been with the organization since 1993. Under her tenure, she has grown the financial operations of the Organization from a $7 million operating budget in the US to an over $110 M operating budget across 30 different entities operating in 13 different currencies. In addition to overseeing the financial operations, Barbara oversees all external and internal financial reporting including audits, tax filings, financial planning, executive management reports, and donor reports. She holds a degree in Accounting and Information Systems, is a Certified Public Account, and a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants.
