Andrea is a protection specialist with a focus on persons with specific needs and human rights, with over 10 years of experience in international organizations, public institutions, and non-governmental organizations in Italy and Colombia. Andrea has a wide experience working in mixed migration flows and international protection and in the mainstreaming of Age, Gender and Diversity (AGD) approach, Community-based Protection (CBP) and Sexual and Gender-based Violence (SGBV) for the access to health and the development of an integrated protection response for migrants and refugees. She has also co-led local inter-agency protection coordination groups in Medellin and Bogotá.
Andrea has a vast experience in capacity development activities and training to public institutions, service providers and local organizations to enhance the protection response to refugees and migrants. Andrea organized the first Italian workshop on SGBV against men, boys and persons with diverse SOGIESC and promoted the creation of a network of social, health, MHPSS, legal professionals and LGBTIQ+ organizations working on its prevention and response. She created a training package on the matter and information material on the access to health for refugees SGBV survivors. She also developed a SGBV-CBP program for LGBTIQ+ refugees and migrants that conducted to their self-organization for SGBV prevention and health access in Bogotá.
Andrea earned a degree on Political Science and a Master degree on International Cooperation, Development from the University of Bolonia and received a Master degree on Immigration and social transformations from Ca’ Foscari University of Venice.
