Angie K. García Atehortúa is a criminal and human rights lawyer from Colombia. She has represented victims in cases of war crimes and crimes against humanity, including conflict related sexual violence. Angie joined All Survivors Project as a National Legal Consultant in March 2021. She holds an LL.M magna cum laude in International Human Rights Law from the University of Notre Dame, where she also worked as a research consultant at the Notre Dame Reparations Design and Compliance Lab. Prior to joining ASP, she worked as a legal associate at Strategic Advocacy for Human Rights, advising on cases of sexual and gender-based violence. At the District Government in Colombia, she advised victims of sexual and gender-based violence before the domestic jurisdiction. From 2017 to 2019, Angie served as a legal advisor at Foundation for Press Freedom (FLIP) in Colombia, where she litigated cases related to gross violations of human rights against journalists before domestic courts and the Inter-American and Universal Human Rights Systems. She previously worked at the Inter-American Court of Human Rights as a visiting professional and as a legal intern at the International Residual Mechanism of the United Nations Criminal Tribunals.
