The National Commission on the Disappearance of Persons (1983-1984) was established to investigate human rights abuses committed during the military regime that ruled from 1976 to 1983 in Argentina. During this period, the military engaged in the “Dirty War” suppressing suspected left-wing opponents. TheNever Again (Nunca Más) report – the title of the Commission’s full report – describes sexual torture against male detainees, including electric shocks applied to sexual organs and rape by insertion of objects into anus and penis.
