The Extraordinary Chambers of the Court of Cambodia (ECCC) established in 1997 which investigates serious crimes committed during the Khmer Rouge regime 1975-1979, is considering evidence that both men and women were victims of forced marriage.

Consummation of marriage was monitored. Based on these allegations, rape in the context of forced marriage was one of the crimes used by the CPK leaders to implement their policies.
